Trip Details:
Introduction to surfing Southern California is a prime location for surfing! If you enjoy the ocean and have always wanted to learn to surf, this is the trip for you. You receive a quick ground lesson that will help you as you try to catch the waves. We supply the surfboards, wetsuits and transportation. Surfing is fun; enjoy the sun, the beach and the waves! San clemente is the perfect place to learn to how to surf not only does it have a rich surfing history but it also has the best waves. Itinerary 8:00am Leaders arrive pre check for van, gather gear 9:00am Group arrives, pack van, leave UCR 10:30 am Arrive at beach 11:00am Begin surfing instruction 2:30pm Finish up surfing, back to van 3:00pm On road back to UCR 5:00pm Arrive back, group breaks up Cost: UCR Students - $55 early bird / $60 Others - $73 early bird / $80

Surfing What to Bring: • Swimsuit on under your clothes. We will put on wetsuits over our swimsuits. • Try to avoid cotton clothing as it gets very cold when wet • Wetsuit (full or spring) is recommend and will be provided • Wetsuit booties or “aqua socks” for your feet are recommended. Available at Sport Chalet or other outfitters. No flip flops. • 2 full water bottles (32 oz each) • Sunscreen and Lip balm (minimum SPF 15) • Sunglasses with retainers • Lunch Items • Money in case we stop for food • Camera (optional) • Towel • Dry clothing to change into after

Trip Details:
The Southern California coastline boast some of the world's best surfing along the beaches of Oceanside, Huntington, Doheny, Carlsbad, San Clemente, and San Onofre. Throughout the school year, CSUSB Outdoors explores a different beach, boardwalk, and taco stand during our Surf Saturday program. Whether you are a surfing pro, or just a beginner, come and enjoy a day of surfing and playing on the beach. Don't feel like surfing? You are still welcome to came along to play in the sand, join a game of beach volleyball or stroll along the boardwalk. We meet at 800am at the SRFC to issue gear, get fitted in our wetsuits, and pack a lunch. We depart campus around 830am for a short drive to the beach and a whole day of playing. We typically return to campus by 800pm, stopping along the way to grab dinner (at one of those taco stands) on our way home. No experience is required as instuction will be provided. $30 Students and SRFC Members, $35 Faculty and Staff, $40 Alumni, $45 Community Members. Price includes transportation, snacks, lunch, surfboard, wetsuit, booties, and instruction.
