Overview:
The Outdoor Leadership and Recreation (OLER) program at San Juan College is designed to provide you with employable skills for a career in Outdoor Leadership, or as a Challenge Course Practitioner. San Juan College offers a degree in Outdoor Leadership and Recreation with a variety of options: a two-year associates of arts degree, or a one-year certificate with an emphasis in Outdoor Leadership or Challenge Course Practitioner. The Outdoor Leadership Program combines a core group of classes on fundamental knowledge and theory with additional field based classes. These classes are experiential in nature, meaning that you will learn the skills through participation in various activities. Although these classes are lots of fun, you will learn a great deal about yourself, your peers, the educational value of the experience, and how you can become an effective professional in the field.
